Dark's Art Parlour
is a place to celebrate art that is beautiful and disturbing;
a home for the conjurations of our artists. Established by two
artists (Joe Gomez Flores and RH Phister) in 1994, Dark's Art
Parlour opened its gallery doors in southern California with exhibitions
of artists from across the country. We began publishing Dark's
Art Parlour: The Periodical of Dark Art the following year
to bring the gallery to those unable to visit in person. Although
we closed our gallery doors in July, 1997 we invite everyone with
access to the Internet to share the treasures we've discovered!
Dark's Art Parlour
would never have been possible without those great artists that
preceeded us.
From Goya, Rembrandt, and the Renaissance to Dali, Francis Bacon,
and the Surrealists; To them all, we owe a great debt. The current
wave of contemporary masters such as Joel Peter Witkin, H.R. Giger,
and Zdzislaw Beksinski continue to guide us and give us hope for
the future of what we call "Dark Art".

specializes in art of an intimate and personal nature:
the beautiful and disturbing, art of the fantastic, oddities and
grotesqueries,
and other manifestations of the imagination.
