Before the Gulf war, there were lots
of rumors. I thought I'd make a painting about
war. The two figures on either side are the opposing forces: blind,
larval, zombie
automatons with no soul or brain. The central evil-looking figure
represents War,
seducing them into embracing the missle. When I finished it, a
friend came over
and said "that is so ugly, and evil...if anything happens,
your responsible."
The next day the Gulf war started.

I am sort of amused when people think
I'm evil because of the subjects that I paint.
There's no reason to believe that a person is the thing he paints.
If I paint a dog, it doesn't mean I have to be a dog.
